I was so shocked and disappointed when Chris got voted off that I have no desire to watch AI any longer. However, I do think now that it was a blessing in diguise. Now he may have a record deal with Fuel and at least make the kind of music that will allow him to be true to homself and not be bound by an AI contract limiting him to a certain image and certain type of song. I can't wait for his CD to come out.

I am a 25 year old lead guitarist, the band I just left got to open for Bon Jovi in November of last year at a sold out stadium buy winning a battle!!! It was awesome!!! I was totally disgusted to see that America had let Chris down. Chris was the star of the show this season and I knew it from the beginning. I turned the show on just to see this man perform. Chris was the reason I watched idol every week, but now it doesn't matter. Good luck to the rest on the show. I am so disgusted with Chris being eliminated. I wish that Canadians could vote, he would still be there. He will rise so far above AI though, look at the statistics of the winners: Kelly is the only one to do much of anything. Rueben who? Clay who? etc, etc. People are voting on how people are selling themselves, just like with Rueben, it was his marketing that got him the win, now Taylor is marketing himself, take all the fancy moves away and what have you got? Kat can sing sort of, but again she is marketing her looks. Elliott is ok, but really, compare him to Kelly Clarkson - will he sell millions of albums? NO. There is no use getting a recount if votes that were intended for Chris went to Kat, or if there was a screw up with the phone lines, as some have reported. All I can say is that this controversy has probably done more for Chris's career than any win on AI would have been. He now as an outraged base that will be clammoring for his music. (I for one will be - I have been replaying his music on my headphones from my computer every time I sit down.) I can't wait for his OWN CD - not some bubblegum crap that AI might have wanted him to put out. I believe he will be able to pursue both a solo carreer and a carreer with a rock band. He would be the best thing that happened to Fuel, but in the long run, it may not be best for Chris. I would like to see a mixed genre CD or maybe a CD "pack" that shows full talent for both Rock, Ballads, Love songs, etc. HE WILL HAVE AN AMAZING CAREER!

First of all I'd like to say that I still can't believe Chris was voted off American Idol. Secondly, that's the key point right there. "He was voted off". It has nothing to do with the producers; and the Americans who didn't vote at all have no right to complain. The votes have nothing at all to do with the producers, its up to the viewers to keep their favourites on, and obviously they failed to do that. I don't think making a pack to never watch AI again is gonna do anything to affect the ratings. The show is huge and will continue to stay that way. There's just something about watching people fail that seems to draw us in. Sad but true. I for one think that there are still two incredible singers left on the show. Elliott and Catherine are amazing, and at this point I just wanna see Taylor Hicks gone. As good of a performer as people might think he is, one things for sure...he is definitely not marketable. Like someone else said, it's probably better that Chris didn't win. Perhaps this way he'll be taken a little more seriously. As great as Kelly Clarkson is now, has nothing at all to do with AI. That was just her foot in the door. Having "American Idol" attatched to your name doesn't mean crap unless you work hard and people actually like you. Just ask Rubben and Fantasia. We all know Chris is already a huge star. While the remaining singers bust their asses trying to prove something to people who really don't care in the first place, Chris will already be persuing his dream in the "real world" with people who actually take him seriously. People, I know how it hurts when your idol gets booted out. But you should take it all with way of logical not with something emotional. Please relax and chill out. Don�t blame another idol, that�s so immature. How come you all blame Kat for that elimination day, just blame it to yourself, ask yourself, who to vote, it�s completely you. Now that Chris is gone, I have no interest in the rest of this season. I actually CRIED when I found out! And I have never been a crazy, crying, obsessed fan of ANYONE. But it was the injustice of it all and it caught me by such surprise. At the very beginning of this season I told my husband that if Chris Daughtry ever had a concert, big or small, I want tickets! Chris was the best contestant - HANDS DOWN. He has such a distinct,natural singing voice and his performances seemed effortless. His stage presence and comfort level in front of an audience was unmatched by the other contestants. I think that Chris will be much better off by NOT winning it all. If he had won, he would have been pidgeon-holed into making the kind of music that the AI exec's wanted him to make. He needed to break away from the other three to strike out on his own, and he will be the true winner in the end. This was a travesty. I almost cried. I am 40 years old -- so, I do not have a crush on Chris. I just think he is flat out talented. The guy was a star from day one. He didn't fit in with the rest of the singers. It was like a professional was up on stage with high school students. It might be a good thing in the end. It is rather ridiculous to claim that the vote against Chris was rigged. He was obviously the judges' favorite so if it was rigged, it would have been rigged for him, not against him. I was as shocked as everyone else that he was voted off and there may have been a mistake, but it was not rigged against Chris. It is easy to scream "rigged" when we don't like the results. It has happened every year.

I was totally shocked when Ryan told Chris he was going home! I really thought Chris would/should win it all! It's time for a rocker to be an Idol. So disappointing. My heart went out to Chris as he stood there looking stunned and hurt. I decided to crochet him a beanie for his bald head. We need to figure out a way to really get the owrd out there about the phone lines. I thought it was my phone that night, I can notbelieve howmany comments I have read all over the internet about it. Thouhgmany say it is us fans looking for an excuse for a "do over" I really believe there was a problem. It all just doesnt add up otherwise, it is by far the biggest shock. There is no way America voted him off, the only other thing I can think of is maybe AI had to rig a deal with him due to the I WALK THE LINE controversy- not many know this, but the Senate is persuing this against Chris, maybe it came down to a conflict of interest type liability thing, maybe AI said they would "bail" him/help him out but that he needed to leave the show.....??? Totally rigged! I just don't even know how Taylor & Kat made it to the top 3. Kat is a great singer, but she isn't putting her all in it. She is all about the sexy factor now. Chris had it all. And the fact that he is a dad and loves his wife so much is even more reasons to be so fanatic about him. I was so mad that he got kicked off. It is impossible that he got the least votes! COME ON NOW! Elliot dropped out of school in 10th grade and has meaningless jobs since then. So he has diabetes, sorry to hear that! Chris has the talent and the drive and definitely the support. I don't know about what to say about signing with Fuel. Just go with your heart, dude. It would be a great stepping stone. No matter what you do, you have tons of support all over America & Canada too apparently. You've made it. Now show AI that they messed up letting you leave! Note- I disagree about the comment someone made about Bo Bice. I think that Carrie was deserving and she has broken records in the country charts and even received awards and its only her first year. Bo would not have done that. Remember, he put an album out too!

I don't look at is a "good-bye" to Chris now that he's off American Idol. From what I understand, record companies aren't allowed to approach idols while they're still in the running, and the conestants are not allowed to accept offers. I am quite certain that Chris' ousting on American Idol this past Tuesday night will serve more as a godsend to him than winning the actual competition would. At least this way his extreme talent will be recognized all the sooner. He's got an amazing voice and has what America wants! Surely he knows this. I look forward to seeing Chris in the limelight and will certainly be standing in line to purchase his new release! Congrats to Chris for making this far-and congrats to what the future holds for him!!

Here's my thought on the WHY this happened, you rockers out there will know exactly what I am talking about......... The problem that has occured with this stupid show is that America's majority has become to think ( or bebrainwashed) into believing that the Clay Aiken's and the Kelly Clarkson's are the only type of persona nd type of genre deserving of winning and being title American Idols. Now, dont jump on me becuase I mentioned Kelly, we all know she can sing and she has the performance aspect, however, my point is not negative towards her, rather than to point out that America's majority has always favored the girly girl and the boy band singers. Its the unfortunate truth. For crying out loud, ROCK HAS ALWAYS BEEN BASHED BY THE MAJORITY. If you ask me to have the Idol's do Elvis was pretty contradicting- though he is an American HERO in the way of music, he himself and his music caused all kinds of controversy when he started. It is sad, but true. Simon Cowell proved my point when Chris did Creed's song "What If" He specifically said he thought it was too much and "You wouldnt see Creed on this show" UMMM excuse me WHY NOT???? Since when is American Idol for only certain Genres of music????? My whole point to this is that Chris unfortunately got the raw deal and was just another victim of the American Majority and their ignorance. If he had presented himself from the beginning as a soul/jazz ect performer and never showed the Rocker side, I would bet America would have voted differently. Its pathetic, but we who know what we like, us FELLOW ROCKERS, will Rock on with Chris, as I have been doing from day one and will be right there to buy that forst album, because it will happen, and ya know what ELLIOT AND TAYLOR- HIS CD COVER IS GOING TO BE A HELL OF A LOT MORE SEXY THAN YOURS!!! BY FAR. I love you Chris, you got it and we knew it from day one- adding the little prank of hiding the "golden ticket" under your sexy hat made it all the better! I too experienced phone problems while trying to call in my vote. Several times I received a message that said, "We're sorry but your call cannot go through at this time." I was eventually able to cast my vote, but I think something was going on with his numbers. He was meant to be THE AMERICAN IDOL.
